One Day Adventures | Veluwe - West

Just an ordinary day in October.

Well, not just any day. The country is suffering under the Covid-19 restrictions. It doesn’t look like we are going to have any gravel events soon, let alone gravel races.

But we can still go out and ride.

The Netherlands aren’t big, but big enough to provide us with nice gravelrides on unknown territory for at least five more Covid-crises. Today part one of many more to come: the Veluwe. Or to be more specific: the western part of the Veluwe. A local sent us this beautiful route and we must say: this guy delivered. 100k long, about 90k dirt road, I guess. The plan: we start off with some coffee, we do a 4 to 5 hour ride on terra incognita and we end it with a little BBQ.

Plan succeeded.

100.000 panoramic views. Hysterical karma revelations. Dirty jokes. Posing for photographs. Uggs underneath bib shorts. French toast deluxe. Winners en narcissists. Single tracks and endless lanes. A crash but no biggy. A tad of mysophobia and a bit of humble bragging.

Today was all smiles - gotta love one day adventures
